Proration

When a member upgrades mid-cycle, proration credits the unused time on the old plan against the cost of the new one, so they pay only the difference.

Without it, upgrading feels like a penalty — the member pays twice for overlapping days — which is enough to stop people moving to a higher tier at the moment they most want to.
